BIO (extended – art by Oliver Schoeffler)
“when, where, how and why”
Born in autumn 1966 in Witten an der Ruhr. In a household with parents who were shaped by their post-war history and in the endeavor that can only be achieved through diligence and deprivation, prosperity.
At this time, “the old spirits” were defeated and yet a part of society. There was little room for dreamers here, here the family still determined who you were, where you came from and what was to become of one.

In my imagination there are still images that lead to feelings that have always helped me to endure the inner turmoil of man. My experiences in childhood, in my parents’ home, created in me the will to rebel in my own way. To think up things that don’t yet exist, to create stories and dreams and to show beauty. Not as an ideal, but as a miracle of diversity and yes, even in its ugliness.

Compassion for oneself and others, self-care, beyond any functioning. Meant as enduring value, more enduring than the fulfillment of material needs, or power and greed.
Right now, somewhere in the universe, waves of ammonia are crashing against a sulfurous shore, a red sun sinks under glittering clouds, preparing to create DNA in a persistent rain. And we humans are in the middle of our own metabolism. Why should we not prove ourselves to be gardeners and preservers of this creation and thus find our destiny?
With these “dreams” of a fairer and better world, I grew up in the middle of the student riots, the RAF, nuclear power, the “cold war” and deterrence. Followed by recession and unemployment. Of course, I followed my parents’ wish to learn something “reasonable” and took it to the electrician. Since I am technically gifted but also like to work with people, I made it in another Training as a nurse in intensive care. My professional world has always been accompanied by music.

Because this art form is the most direct way for me to bring my inner images to life. To anticipate it, I am completely uneducated, maybe not even an autodidact, because this would mean that I master an instrument at least amateurishly, which is not the case. The benefit and freedom of music has always been important to me. Which led me to constant experimentation and a very special way of working. I even made another career change, into sound engineering, where I worked for radio and television for a time and most recently taught at a sound engineering school.

But here I experienced the profit-oriented, heartless side of the music industry and went back to nursing after 10 years. Now in these days I can say that I have brought my different life currents together. I love to help people get back to life with my work and I love to bring something good and beautiful into the world with my art.
